Discrimination occurs in many sports, not just in football. Despite great progress in the UK, especially in fighting racism, there is still discrimination that must be fought whenever it surfaces. Nevertheless, even though great strides have been made there is no resource where people can easily and quickly access in depth information on discrimination in sport in Britain. We intend to fill that void.

The Black List PDF Print E-mail
Written by Derek Miller

Next week Wembley Stadium will host the third Black List. It was devised by Leon Mann, an occasional contributor to Empower-Sport Magazine, and Rodney Hinds of the Voice. While some oppose the concept, we welcome it. Black contributions to football have been marginalised and ignored for far too long. The Black List helps to redress that and open a much needed debate on important contributions to football and society.

This year the memory of Keith Alexander will be honoured. A special and well deserved award will be presented to his family. We will be attending and supporting the event as usual. It should continue the debate on black contributions to football. Of course we have some nominees of our own who have not made the list so far. We will nominate them next year.

The list recognizes key figures including coaches and managers in the professional and amateur game, members of the media, key administrators in football and people active in the community.

We congratulate the nominees:
